BiLevel 9055 positive airways presssure is a variation on CPAP. Instead of providing air at a constant, steady pressure all night, the machine "senses" if you are breathing in or out and varies its level of pressure accordingly. On inspiration, a higher pressure is needed to prevent apnoeas, hypoapnoeas or snoring. When you breathe out you may feel more comfortable if there is less resistance, and the pressure can be lower while protecting you from apnoea. Features and Benefits ~ Pressure range of 3-25 cm in both ~ BiLevel CPAP and CPAP mode. ~ Pressure difference between the IPAP pressure setting and EPAP pressure setting can be up to 22 cmH2O. ~ Automatically maintains the same triggering sensitivity with a high leak rate (up to 80 LPM) as at a normal mask leak rate. ~ A "Soft Start" feature: This permits you to acclimate to the pressure after the unit is powered on. Over the period of ten seconds, the unit’s pressure will rise to the pre-set pressure in a linear fashion. ~ Delay mode setting of 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 or 45 minutes. ~ Hours of usage (while breathing) ~ Compliance bar graph that indicates % compliance over the preset "sleep-time" hours used per day (sleep time is the average hours of sleep a night that you expects to get on a regular basis, which is set by the healthcare provider during set up) ~ Built-in optional Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS) recorder. ~ Memory storage for up to 36 months of compliance data. This data is downloadable with the LT software or eCompliance. ~ Automatic patient notification for mask changes and filter cleaning. Mask change notices are provider selectable. Filter cleaning/changes are weekly notifications. Both consist of a short beep and text message when the unit is turned on.
