This positive displacement feature, prevents the backflow of blood into the catheter lumen which can otherwise lead to thrombotic occlusions. It is the patented fluid displacement profile, which allows ICU Medical to GUARANTEE that the CLC2000 will help maintain the patency of vascular access devices.
